Nice, Small site - but be aware of the impact of the trains

The first thing you notice on arrival is how small the site is. It is very compact and that also applies to the hard standing pitches which are generally no more than 5m wide. They are too small to allow car, caravan, awning side-by-side, and as a consequence people park their cars at the front of their pitch which adds to the complexity of navigating the site. If you have a wider awning then maybe one of the grass pitches would suit and there are a few (~5) that would allow you to pitch in that way. The site is kept immaculately clean and tidy as are the facilities. The biggest issue with the site are the trains. The site is approx 50m from a very busy railway line which seems to start around 6am with both passenger and freight train traffic. For those who have stayed at Betwys-y-Coed, the noise experience and proximity is similar but much more frequent. You'll probably experience a train every 5 mins during the day at Pandy. Overall a very nice site in a lovely location.
