Regular Visitor

We are regular visitors to this site. Pitches are sloping so recommend ramps or blocks. The pitches are hard standing but surrounded by grass so you need to drive on and off carefully. Nearly all pitches share the marvellous sea views with St Marys Lighthouse the main feature. Cycle/footpath runs along the edge of the site and the footpath cuts off a good chunk of the walk to Whitley Bay. On major bus route to Whitley Bay and Newcastle but as two separate companies share the route you need to watch if you buy a day ticket. Local Co-op is about 10 mins walk. The pub just outside entrance has been refurbished and serves meals till 7 pm. There are more pubs and a great Fish and Chip shop in Seaton Sluice 15 min walk. Toilet block quite small but perfectly adequate. If you are a large unit be careful of overhang when driving on and off pitches. Grass area is normally quite firm but can get soft if there has been a lot of rain. As exposed to North Sea can get quite windy and notably cooler than the surrounding area. Access road recently re-gravelled.
