Find out more details at camc.com/redevelopments.
Old Hartley Club Campsite offers one of the best views on the network and is perched on a grassy cliff top overlooking the lighthouse on St Mary's Island. This island is a well-known local nature reserve with an abundant bird population of national importance and lovely walking trails where you can enjoy the unspoilt scenery. The traditional holiday resort of Whitley Bay is within easy reach of the campsite and boasts a superb sandy beach and indoor leisure pool complex.
The location being one of the perks surrounding our Tyne & Wear campsites, you'll be pleased to hear local transport is highly accessible from Old Hartley Club Campsite - the Metro and regular local buses will take you directly into the heart of Newcastle city centre, popular for the shopping in Eldon Square. A short journey across the River Tyne will take you to Gateshead, where you can discover the many attractions at the Metro Centre, Europe's largest indoor shopping centre which includes restaurants, cinemas and loads of entertainment facilities. The Blue Reef Aquarium is a fun and educational visit for all ages and located just a few miles from the site. For dining, you might like to consider the pub outside the site entrance or the fish and chip shop just a short drive away.
All in all, the campsite promises all the choices you could wish for in a relaxing holiday destination.

Our stay was simply wonderful! The toilets are almost nicer than at home. The view is breathtaking and the location of the pitch is excellent. Only the fringes of the storm were a little annoying. The staff are extremely friendly and courteous.

As others have said, the site is stunningly located for walking, cycling and using local public transport, with beautiful beaches within walking and cycling distance. There are fantastic cycle lanes on the coast road to Tynemouth. Facilities are also excellent. However, the site adjoins a public car park on its southern border... Show more
