Nice site and handy for Newcastle as well as nice walks
We were a bit put off when we arrived by some "more than my job's worth" attitude. For example, we were 30 minutes early, so we decided to wait it the virtually empty car park. We were immediately and abruptly moved on - "where would they be if everyone was to park in the carpark, after all?" they may as well have said! I think it was an over zealous but understandable determination to stick to the Covid rules, and the wardens were very friendly from 1.00 onwards (in fact like different people).
From then on, it was all great. The view was spectacular and had a great coast walk into Whitley Bay.
We had actually gone to meet our son and fiancee in Newcastle (outdoors in the rain) and that was very easily done in one short bus ride. Will go again but we will get our timings right this time.
P.S.
Top tip, you need to twist to the right when plugging into hook up. I've never seen this before and, being dim, it took me a while to suss it.
