New Covid 19 regulations - Access to the toilet and washing facilities

If you are not worried about infection control then come to this site. Since opening again in July 2020 a new system has been introduced to access the toilet facilities, apparently by the wardens of this site which is absolutely rediculous! The gents facilities are closed and everyone is to access the ladies toilets, one person is allowed in at one time and a band is left outside the toilets and if it is available you take the band into the toilet with you and replace it on the hook outside the toilets when finished. Everyone on the site uses and picks up the same band, so potentially infection can spread very easly here, I wont be returning to this site until this implement a better system. At other sites you are issued a band each on arrival and hang it up outside the facilities, so you are the only one using this band for the duration of your stay and then they are sanitized, why havent old hartley done the same. I was told by the relief wardens they have done things differently here because bands were going missing, so is the club more worried about the cost of a few bands instead of the safety of their guests!

I wholeheartedly agree with this I was there for a week last week, and it was ridiculous. There was no reason to close the mens toilet block, and as for additional cleaning, I saw none at all. Only the normal 10.15 a.m clean. I was appalled at the length of time some people were in there selfishly having showers lasting 20 - 30 minutes with no thought for their fellow caravanners.

Apparantley this is to do with the position of the fresh water tap and waste point, I have been on this site many times and to the left and side of the ladies block everbody could use the motorholme tap and waste grate so why close the mens side. All this time the site as been closed a plumber could have solved the problem in half a day.I have just returned from haycraft site near swanage  that as got the identical block  and the two band system worked perfect the wardens were spot on. Managment no idea at all i agree with previous reveiws stupid and pathetic they are still wanting members money, still going to this site in august i will see for myself , in this day and age the money the club charge we should have serviced pitches any way.

Other camc sites have adopted the same method. You could always use your own facilities as we do.

We have just returned from a 4 day stay at Old Hartley, Had a lovely break and the weather was kind to us.The only thing that spoilt our stay was the carry on with the toilet facilities.

One person, or a couple allowed in the ladies toilet/shower block at a time, ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!.Permanent queues, and the feeling of being rushed when u got in, that's if you were fortunate enough to get in.!! We had just come back from whitby, where every other sink was taped off, social distancing was adhered to at all times, and the facilities were spotless. Also the site at Thornton le Dale was again, absolutely spotless, and social distancing, adhered to. No problem or queuing whatsoever. My partner is disabled, and fortunately the disabled facility was open for those with a radar key, if it had not been open she would not have been able to manage, but she did feel quite uncomfortable, being able to use the facilities when other people were having to queue. Maybe a couple of portaloo's would have been an idea to have in place, so that if you just needed the loo, you weren't waiting for people to have a shower! We all pay, quite a lot for these pitches, and not having the full facilities, or even reduced facilities, should have come with some sort of reduction, Hopefully, things will be sorted better for those people going to this site in the near future.
