As the site picture shows the views can be good but on the other hand :- We were on pitch 49 which is at the bottom of a reasonably steep hill for a pensioner. Unfortunately the nearest water, grey waste and toilet emptying facilities were at the shower block at the top of the hill. To drag a full waste up the hill was a struggle so take my advice and take it half empty. There were a number of mumblings from other members about this point. The pitches are quite small in comparison to the norm and the info is correct when it recommends levelling blocks, (not all pitches but be ready). The toilet and shower block were adequate, only had to queue only once for the shower, and were kept very clean and tidy by the wardens as was the site in general. The site is ideally located for Newcastle and the southern part of Northumberland with public transport access not too far away. The site would be much improved with the provision of drinking water and waste at the bottom of the hill where the bins are located. All in all a pleasant stay but improvements are justified.
