A fantastic site for sea views and walking. St Mary’s lighthouse and causeway are always worth a visit and a walk along the seashore to Whitley Bay is always great. Alerted by a fellow camper we were lucky enough to see a dozen dolphin “ surfing” in front of a passing fishing vessel. We also both thought we saw a couple of killer whales about 150m closer to shore but questioned ourselves , however a “ google” did reveal a pod has been sighted off the Northumberland coast so we are now certain. A lovely, in touch with nature, stay. We cycled on Route 1 up to Amble and return (55miles) but highly recommend.
