We stayed at Old Hartley for a couple of nights and thought it was a lovely small site with friendly, welcoming and particularly hard working Wardens. What lovely views and they try so hard to make sure each caravan/motorhome has a view no matter where they are pitched on the site. The facilities are spotlessly clean and very adequate for what anyone needs. Some people seem to forget that they have their own facilities if for any reason they are not happy with the ones provided on site. The site is as described in the handbook and on the internet so no one should really be surprised when they arrive. I hope that the hard working Wardens don't read some of the reviews on here and become dispirited. We had a lovely time, the walk to the island was great and the drive round the surrounding areas was very interesting. We would love to go back if we are in the area although it is sometimes difficult to get in due to the fact that it gets fully booked - despite what some members seem to write in their reviews.
