Yorkshire moors

Our first visit to the North Yorkshire Moors site. A very peaceful spot great if you want a quiet location. A lot of the pitches are in and among trees which can cause problems with TV reception and, when we were there, annoying midges plus loss of the yellow bun! However we pitched up on the grassed area to the left as you enter the site. It was nice and open so OK for the sun all day. The wardens were friendly and helpful and really a great place if you want to get away from it all. The site is also well located for touring the area, both inland and the coast. The Whitby park and ride is only 4 miles away and well worth using. If you have a bus pass it is only £1.50 each for a return ticket. Check out the North Yorkshire Steam Railway, also for a good meal, the Fylingdales Inn at Fylingthorpe near Robins hood bay. So much to see and do in this area.
