The Moors the better
Set on the magnificent Yorkshire Moors this site offers everything one could want except the toilet block which we new weren't included well before we arrived. Water and waste points were plentiful and generally within easy reach. Vans and Motorhomes were set in small clusters among the many trees. This was a very idyllic and peaceful site even when we visited at the start of the school holidays. Attractions such as Whitby and Scarborough were within easy reach as was the exceptional North Yorkshire Railway running the Sir Nigel Gresley during our week there. Eating houses were plentiful and reasonably priced, particularly in the more outlying areas. Local routes present motorists with challenges not normally encountered, narrow lanes and very steep hills. Visitor should be wary of the many 1in 3 hills and stick to the Caravan Site recommended route when approaching or leaving. The wardens were really friendly and helpful particularly when the water ran out!
