Seals and Hares
This is a lovely quiet site with lots of local walking opportunities. The planted sections give the site a very relaxed feel and is was good to see No Mow May in operation. There are a few tucked away sections that allow you to feel that you are on a much smaller site and we particularly appreciated the drive over motorhome service point. Really helpful. We saw a hare in the field just outside the site and we watched seals from the cliffs above Ravenscar, a fairly short drive away. A planned swim in the pool below falling foss didn't go ahead as it was little more than a puddle, despite the recent rain. The ice-cream from Beacon Farm is excellent and it is worth visiting the ice-cream parlour there for the vast range of flavours on offer. It is a pity that this site isn't open all year as despite the lack of facilities it would make a great base for winter walking. The wardens were welcoming and friendly. A new site on the 'must return' list.
