peaceful and tranquil site
We had a lovely week at the site and despite the howling winds and lashing rain managed to visit everywhere we had planned. The wardens were really friendly and helpful and the site was spotlessly clean and tidy. The information shed is full of interesting leaflets and books with plenty of ideas of things to do locally. The dog walking area is great, quite a reasonable walk and the dogs could run off lead and sniff about. We did a circular walk from Goathland to Little Beck and sat outside the pub in the sunshine enjoying a pint, an old fashioned pub as the bar is in the front room of the house and the beer is served through a hatch from the kitchen. Another walk off the site is to Foss waterfall where we sat again in the sunshine and had a tasty lunch before heading back uphill to the site. Scarborough sea front and harbour was beautiful although we couldn't walk on the beaches as the dog beach was closed but it is open from the end of September. we will definitely return to the site next year as there is so much to do around and about.
