We've spent a long weekend here in July. We received a warm and friendly welcome from the warden lady. The site is kept impeccable. The information hut with all the leaflets was absolutely tidy. The site is lovely and peaceful, I loved the location as it is kind of in the forest. There's a lovely little walking area as well in the neighbouring forest. The site is close to Whitby and Scarborough, and if you're a Heartbeat fan like my other half, visiting Goathland is a must :) The only drawback was the poor internet reception (this is O2 information), we had to go up to the reception-entrance area to get 3G. It made planning a bit difficult. Other than that it's a very lovely, very well maintained site, would definitely recommend it.
