Beautiful peaceful site
This is a beautiful site, set among trees and within the North Yorks Moors National Park. Wardens are very friendly and helpful and obviously take pride in keeping the site tidy and making it look pretty with flowers. A specially nice touch was the tub of growing fresh herbs which bore the sign 'Please help yourself'. We loved hearing the birds and watching the cheeky squirrels. We used the Whitby Park & Ride and found it very convenient, with a special area for motorhomes. Lots to do and see in Whitby and especially enjoyed the Abbey and the James Cook Museum. Falling Foss, about 2 miles from the campsite is a lovely waterfall with an excellent cafe, where we enjoyed scones still warm from the oven with local cream and home made jam - delicious! Only drawback is that there is no toilet/shower block.
