Good for families

A pleasant enough campsite.

This was a pleasant enough campsite, picturesque and well maintained with good facilities kept spotlessly clean. Hard standing Pitches are wide and level. Very basic small shop in the reception area, but a more general store and a cafe / bakery a short walk away. There is also a pub nearby that serves meals, although I did not visit so cannot give any opinion on this. A pizza van visited one evening, and also a van selling various coffees also visited the site on several mornings. Personally I could not see the point of the mobile coffee van, it did not appear to have much trade. I would have preferred to see a mobile fish & chip van visit in the evening. Alas, that didn’t happen. An Ice Cream van arrived every tea time and did a circuit of the campsite. There is a children’s play area, and a short dog walk on site, although most folks seem to take their dogs off site for longer walks. Check-in was rather formal, no warm greeting or welcome, and although I had little contact with the staff during my stay, again any contact was business like. But all staff were pleasant enough. Due to a slight walking problem I did request a pitch near to the facilities and this was provided to which I was very grateful. Would I stay at this site again ? Yes probably if I were to visit the area at some future time.
