Good for families

Good open site and plenty to do in the local area

We stayed on the site w/c 12th September. The site is easy to get to, nice and open (a few trees but not too large to hide the sun!) and kept well maintained by the friendly wardens. There is a little road noise but this was not obtrusive and not nearly as noisy as the "fly-by" of the geese at regular intervals :-) We used our bicycles for most of the week and purchased the Cycle Route map from reception - it provides some good safe country road routes with just a few sections of main road and takes you past a number of gardens, pubs and towns. Our favorites were The Fur and Feathers (WoodBastwick), How Hill, Hoveton Hall, Waxham (good place for lunch) and Ranworth Broad. We hired a day boat from Sutton Staithe and managed to get from their to Ranworth and back (even spotting 5 Kingfishers) - reasonably priced at £120.00 (and the boat was electric so no noisy smelly diesel). The Dog Inn just up from the site has good outside seating and does a reasonable evening meal including Gluten Free options which my wife requires. All in all a lovely week, helped by beautiful weather for the time of you and we would definitely visit again!
