Bit of an unusual site this one, compared to most. Very spread out with lots of coves and individual bays. Took us a while to find a pitch that suited us, but we got there in the end. We even extended our stay an extra day as we were there during the extreme temperatures and being coastal it was much cooler than inland. You do have to careful when moving around the site though, the ground is very uneven compared to most clubsites. We visited PortPatrick, but being a Sunday it was horrendous. The pub in the centre had an Elvis impersonator going at full volume, and the bowling club at the end had a Tom Jones impersonator also at full volume. I’ve had two visits with bikeing clubs and wanted to take the wife, not exactly how I wanted her to see it!! The lighthouse was a better visit, stunning views. No doubt we’ll be back at some point.
