Fabulous site with real character
We stayed here for just one night as part of a 2-week road trip and will definitely return for a longer visit. What a beautiful location! We particularly liked the non-standard layout of the site and the different areas, that all had a different feel to them.
The facilities were okay. They were clean and fit for purpose, but could do with updating, and at the time of our visit, one of them had run out of gas, so we were advised not to use it. The laundry room was great - plenty of room for me in my wheelchair and my assistance dog to help me. The accessible shower room was okay, though a couple of other campers seemed to use it as a smoking room and afterwards, it stank of cigarettes!
The beach is lovely, with stunning views over the bay. With my off-road wheelchair, there were a couple of paths wide enough for me to get onto the beach. The top half is pebble, which was difficult to travel over but it was nice to just sit and look at the sea. If they ever wanted to put in a wheelchair access ramp though, that would make it amazing!
The site staff were very friendly and helpful, with good local knowledge. Looking forward to planning a longer holiday in New England Bay.
