Quiet location

Stayed here for a few nights, the site is on the beach and several miles from the nearest village so you need to stock up before you go. Although we dis find a really well stocked Spar in Stoneykirk.  The wardens are friendly and look after the place well, it's a large site with two facility blocks, we chose the far end as it was nice and quiet.  Nice walks along the coast and the beach shows itself once the tide is out a little. Also lots of wild bramble bushes so ideal for a few nice bramble crumbles during our stay. Wardens advised that were were a few dolphins to be seen feeding from time to time just off shore. We visited the mull of Galloway and the lighthouse site is well worth a visit as is the coffee shop at the visitors centre. The next day we also visited the Logan botanical gardens, another lovely site with a great cafe,. The highlight for us was the visit to portpatrick, a really gorgeous village with a few shops and restaurants and cafes, it was so peaceful with the sun shining across the water so relaxing
