Got home today from 4 nights at New England Bay. We did not want to come home. The site is very easy to find following the website directions. The welcome at reception was warm and friendly and we were told we had a good choice of pitches as 20 pitches had been vacated that morning and of course the end of September is a quiet time of year. We got pitched up along the front overlooking the beach. Trip up and you almost land on the beach it’s that close! The weather for the most part was lovely. We were treated to the most wonderful sunrise everyday and watching the harvest moon rise and reflect on a calm sea was magical. There is very little light pollution in the area so we would try and return when there is no moon do some star gazing. Galloway is of course a dark sky site. We had a good time exploring the area and we will certainly be back. There are some very nice beaches around the area and most places have parking places so it’s great for jumping out and having an explore before moving on somewhere else. On Tuesday evening there was a chip van on site which served the nicest chips we’ve had in a long time. Another evening a van selling fresh fish drove around the site. We are already trying to work out when we can return.
