Beautiful location in such a peaceful part of the UK; stayed for 2 weeks in August. If you’re looking for a commercialised and regimented caravan site with the usual rows of gravel hard standings, you won’t find that here. Large, sprawling site in a rural location, but with plenty of nooks and crannies to find a nice quiet pitch. We had a huge pitch with plenty of space, backing onto the dunes and completely peaceful. Games room is closed and play park is limited equipment-wise but this is an idyllic site site for children; safe to ride bikes, play out on the dunes and the beach and make those childhood memories that camping is all about. Our children loved it and made great holiday friends. The wardens were courteous, busy and very helpful. We needed to have a parcel delivered and they were great in being available to take delivery for us. The reception closes at 10:15 and then reopens at 13:00, for the whole afternoon. Includes a well stocked little shop, including local Galloway ice cream tubs. We didn’t use the facilities block and stuck to onboard amenities during our stay. Perfect dog walks direct from site on to open fields and coastal paths. There are a lot of people with dogs, given the location. We didn’t experience dog fouling anywhere on the site itself. Book it. It’s a hidden gem in the corner of the UK 🇬🇧.
