A lovely relaxing site
My wife and I recently spent 7 nights at the site and we were very happy with the location and the facilities.
The stretch of coastline is breathtaking and there are a number of beautiful places to see and visit.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and they always had time to say hello.
This part of Scotland is a well kept secret and peaceful. If you are unlucky then you might get stuck in rush hour traffic of maybe 3-4 cars.
There are lovely walks along the beach and into the nearby countryside straight from the club site with a number of route guides in the 'information centre'. Further afield there is stunning countryside in the mountains and if you decide to venture to Castle Douglas area then you can go to the Red Kite feeding station..... Well worth a visit to see these beautiful birds and have a return journey back through the mountains rather than the main road.
The Mull of Galloway is well worth a visit, as is Port Patrick (closest thing to a seaside town, but quaint) and one of the nicest beaches we have ver been to at Killantringan (about 5 minutes drive from Port Patrick. There are no facilities here and it is a steep climb down to the beach, but as the tide goes out you are treated to a lovely crescent shaped sandy beach with rock pools and several places were you can set up in the rocks without being overlooked by anybody.
Access to the club site is very easy and there is a good range of pitches from open pitches to secluded.
We would certainly stop here again if coming to the area.
We actually cut our stay short by 3 days as we went to meet somebody in a different part of Scotland. We had to stay on a none Caravan club site and whilst that site was friendly and nice, there was no comparison to what we have come to expect from a Caravan club site.
