Ok for a short stay but:-
We stayed for five nights. The site is well laid out. To amplify what other members have said, the toilet blocks are dated and scruffy, but were found clean. The restricted number of showers and toilets is not really adequate for the number of pitches this site has. Busy times will have you waiting or chancing your luck later. TV reception from the lower part of the site was poor through the bog standard saucer aerial and amplifier. I found O2 3 and 4G signals weak in areas. Both issues that may or not be important to you. Access to Winchester is a doable walk down the road which has got a pavement, or partially through the conservation area before picking the road up. Alternatively the bus service is every 30 mins and a return £3.80. Bus stop is five minute walk from the camp sight. As others have indicated, the road noise is pervasive and continuous for the best part of the day and evening. Sitting quietly and reading a book is not the escape you hoped for, unless of course you live with traffic noise normally. We would stay again to see more of Winchester, but I hope the toilet blocks have at least had a coat of paint by then.
