First stay at Moreton-in-Marsh
We had a lovely short break at this site. Arrival was very organised. We arrived around 12.45 p.m. and there were about five outfits waiting but the two wardens were very organised asking us to wait in our motorhome until asked to go to reception to book in and at 1 pm they would tell us to move forward into the site. To avoid traffic backing up on the main road they did say we would be able to move onto the site slightly earlier if this occurred. They were very welcoming and friendly. There were a lot of pitches to choose from and we selected pitch 128 along the back of the site as we wanted to be in the sunshine and away from the busy road. It is true that some pitches have been updated but ours hadn't and it was fine.
It is a large site and, although busy with a few children around as it was school holiday time, it was quiet and there was a lovely atmosphere. Our lionesses winning the Euros final that weekend helped!
We don't usually take our motorhome off site so this site being very close to Moreton-in-Marsh suited us. You can either walk out of the back of the site along the Monarch's Way footpath or walk along the main road. We also walked to Batsford Arboretum along the footpath and spent a nice afternoon there and did a larger circular walk also involving the Heart of England Way footpath to Longborough, Bourton on the Hill and Blockley. Blockley is a lovely village in a picturesque setting and there is a lovely community cafe and shop. The food was excellent.
All in all a lovely site and a relaxing weekend in the sunshine.
