We visited this site twice in the last couple of weeks en route to Cornwall. We stopped here around 17 years ago and really liked the site so decided to break our journey again. I'm afraid we won't be again and will seek out an alternative in the area. The biggest issue was the hard standings which we requested for both stays. The weather was wet so we felt this would go some way to avoiding muddy boots. Sadly not, the standings we had and others are just not up to the job. Small pea gravel which clearly needs replacing is not a suitable surface if you want to keep the mud at bay. The hard standings on the (privately owned) site we stayed on in Cornwall were much better, large amounts of heavy gravel and still suitable for an awning. The toilet blocks are jaded (not unclean) and clearly due an upgrade soon (or I hope they are). The wardens as ever though were very helpful and accommodating, but I can't recommend this particular site until the issues of the hard standing and toilet block are addressed.
