We were met by a very grumpy warden who said we were late (it was only 4pm) we were booked in to arrive 2 hours ago (we had no knowledge of this) and that she hadn't been able to have her lunch! (hardly our concern I feel!). She also said our van was too long for the grass pitch we had booked (it wasn't), but to avoid any more hostility we went down to the end of the site on a hard standing pitch instead as the site wasn't busy and there was plenty of room. The site does narrow quite a bit down the end, and I imagine if it was full it would feel quite cramped. The site is very peaceful and quiet with no traffic noise. The facilities were clean and the whole site well cared for. On the whole a very pleasant site, just a shame about the welcome which did make us feel a little uncomfortable for the rest of our stay.
