First visit.....won't be the last

Charming small site tucked away in the countryside and perfect for walking and cycling nearby. Weobly was quaint and the church there a stunning example of architecture and the people were really friendly too. Hereford itself a little too bustly for me but Catherdral and surrounding area pleasant. A little gem of a church can be found at Norton Canon and made a great picnic spot after a bike ride as it is secluded with beautiful views and the most amazing trees in the grounds (better than the church to be honest which was plain) which provide shade and boast a magnificent gnarly granular bark, nature's architecture at it's finest!. The Oakchurch farm shop at Staunton-on-Wye (4 miles from site) is a must visit as the range and choice is amazing, I went in for a look, and came out with a week's shopping so beware because the goods on offer all look (and taste) amazing. If you fancy a trip across the border then the so called "bookshop capital of the UK" of Hay-on-Wye is about a fifteen mile drive away, my expectations of fairytale cobbled streets and victorian shops sorely disappointed with the reality of commercialism abounding, although the best bit about it for me was finding a small one woman book binding premises on Lion St. with ancient presses on display in the equally ramshacle exterior but she was lovely and came out to chat for a bit and made the day for me. Kevin and Gail the Wardens were convivial and entertaining and kept the place looking shipshape.
