Welcome Return

After a gap of 5 years a return to Minehead reminded us just how good this site is. It might not have the most up to date facilities but what is there is kept immaculate. The wardens are very good and well organised. Although the site is on a hillside this does not present a problem although the pitch sizes are a bit limited (caravan with awning means you have to park in front of 'van). Minehead itself is within a short walk and has improved a lot since our last stay. The town is well kept and now looks to be thriving, unlike most seaside towns. There are many attractions in the town and also within a short drive of the site.

Needs modernisation

Stayed here over bank holiday weekend.  The Wardens were helpful and polite.  However it's very dark at night - we were at the top of the site. Very few of the lights worked on the hookup bollards, the light on the corner of the slope to the top of the site wasn't working.  Luckily I carry a torch as going to use the facilities after dusk or returning to the top is somewhat daunting. The toilet block is well maintained but could do with somewhere to put your clothes - the White stools were always wet. The Motorhome service point was on a hill with 2 taps, one without a connector piece, the other with approximately 3 metres of hose which spent its time on the floor (so we didn't fill up). It's near great amenities and the town, it's a shame money isn't invested to bring it up to date and fully lit.

Very nice site, close to some amazing bike rides

My young son and I visited the site during July, we were only there for a weekend, arriving quite late on the Friday after the young finished school. We were welcomed with open arms and shown to a lovely (grass) pitch, it was at the base of a bank and I could see that when wet previous occupants had had problems getting out! but fortunately for us it was dry. The facilities are all located at the entrance which is a little bit of a pain but I am trying to use the onboard facilities as much as possible in preparation for a European epic next year so I wasn't too bothered. The site is quiet, clean and convenient. We were there for (MTB) bike riding along the coast which was great, also the pizza shop on the roundabout (think it was called Rominos) is great, and will deliver. I will stay there again, the only thing I would have liked to see is a small play area for the kids.

Needs Investment

Good location and very friendly wardens. Second visit to Minehead. As many have said it is a fairly steep site and if you are unfortunate to be staying at the top of the site it could be a long slog to get back up to your pitch from the toilet block. On our first visit we were lucky to have a pitch on the first level but this time we were on a pitch which was in permanent shade in the smaller top level which was not good but we put up with it as we were only staying for two nights. Toilet block needs updating and trees/bushes could do with trimming back. Can't comment on wifi as I never use it on site when you can get better off site and for free. Come on CC get with it and provide a better wifi on all sites and for free.

Needs updating

Just had a few days at Minehead site and was dissapointed in some areas. The wardens were excellent and the facilities were clean. The problem is that the toilet block is at the entrance and as far away from pitches as is possible to be. The facilities are somewhat dated and need updating. The steep path behind the office is actually quite dangerous for all ages and has to be used by at least 50% of visitors to access the facilities. At over £25 a night the club needs to spend some money here.

Lovely site, great location.

Have visited Minehead Caravan Club Site many times over the years. It is a lovely site and is situated in a good location to visit many places. On this occasion we do have a little moan about the grounds. Although it has been very dry recently so the grass hasn't been growing, but unfortunately weeds still manage to grow. The grass area all around our pitch was growing dandelions quite profusely and every time we sat out we commented to each other how untidy it looked. As I said that although the grass probably didn't need cutting the mower should have been used if only to cut down the weeds and make the site so much tidier.

Well placed site for area

Small site. Very clean and tidy. Friendly helpful wardens. Very convenient spot. On bus route. walking distance to Minehead town. Shops, take-aways and excellent Indian Restaurant in walking distance. Small pub nearby, hidden away in the village. Lower level pitches easiest. Upper level not so good for collecting water. TV reception for BBC poor.

minehead july 2016

Easy located from any direction , we found it to be private and quiet. The only downfall and this was no fault of the wardens was the lazy dog walkers who failed to clear up after their pets.We stayed in july had lovely weather and found the site to be a lovely sheltered sun trap. We found Minehead to be with in easy walking distance with lots of pleasant pubs and eateries we would stay again.

Great Site Great Location

We stayed here for a few days in August , on excellent level pitch 4 , sunny level spot, gravel pitch was no problem .got tv reception , no problem. We were greeted by friendly wardens, who told us the quick way to get to towna 10 - 15 mins walk through a nice residential pathway, then your on main road to town. The site we could not fault it , small and quiet,  Shops , chippy, pub short stroll  right out of site . Town  has many nice  shops and   Great pubs , seafront , not expensive, friendly locals. Nice area. We will return to this lovely site again
