Lovely Quiet Site close to Town and Beach

This is a lovely site, quite small but secluded and quiet. The wardens were lovely and friendly and the site is well kept. The amenity block of toilets, showers etc and washing up facilities are kept really clean and well decorated. Planters outside the amenity block and around the site were looking lovely on my June visit. Some of the pitches have a slight slope to them. Ensure you have pegs that will go into hard ground for awnings, toilet tents etc. and some pitches need a longer EHU cable. There are shops and a pub 5-10 minutes walk away, a bus stop too and the High Street takes about 20 minutes walk depending how fast you walk! Highly recommend stopping here.

Worth a visit

This site was in a good location for walking to Minehead seafront, walking to local Co-op and walking to a nearby park. Friendly welcoming wardens, dog walk in some trees, hilly on site. Park very close for children and to walk the dog. Overall no complaints. Probably wouldn't visit again as we ve seen what there is to see.

Fabulous Site

Our first visit. This is a small site set into a hillside which makes it feel much more personal than some of the larger sites. We did need to level our van. 15 minutes walk to Minehead Seafront. Co-op and newsagents within 5 minutes walk. We did have a bit of trouble with getting a good TV signal but suspect that was just the pitch we were on. Beautiful walk into Dunster. There is only one shower block which was extremely clean, as was the whole site. Wardens extremely friendly and helpful. Really well stocked information room. We can’t comment on whether it is good for families as ours are grown up and we’re not with us. However there is no play area so would suggest probably better for adults

Excellent Site

Had a short stay on this site for the first time, primarily chosen due to its close location to my home and is open throughout the year. It is a small site, immaculately kept as are all the facilities, every where clean and fresh with very helpful and friendly staff. The location close to the Town made for easy walking access for shopping and local eateries.

Lovely site

My wife and I have just spent a very pleasant 28 day stay on this site. Although it is next to the road it is extremely quiet and we did not find traffic a disturbance. The site was extremely clean as were the facilities. The proximity of the site to Minehead makes it perfect for motor caravans as the town and supermarket shopping are only a short walk away. We did have two problems however. The first was that the showers were not hot enough until our last day, when Gary, the relief warden, sorted them out. The second problem was the chemical emptying point. The valve fitted to the tap which prevents back feeding of foul water into the system via the washdown hose is obviously not working properly as water is being ejected from it all the time when in use and it made the experience of daily cassette emptying a real drag as shoes and trousers were always wet. I have been in touch directly with the club with regard to this and hopefully it will be sorted out. The site only has one chemical emptying point which makes it a long way away from the furthest pitches but the warren told us that the club is proposing to install a second point.

Peaceful and relaxing

February 2023 We have just returned from a six night stay. The weather was very kind, which is always a bonus😀 A quiet site within east walking distance of the town centre. Things to consider: It is in an old quarry, although well disguised with greenery. It is on several levels with the shower and toilet facilities on the lowest of these. There are no play areas. The top level is very shady in February! We didn’t get any sunshine during a sunny week. This is an ideal winter site for us, plenty of walks and shops, etc. close by. The icing on the cake was the friendly welcome from the very helpful staff. We will return!!

A perfect stay for February half term

We have just returned from a five night stay at this lovely caravan site. The wardens were very welcoming and, with their help, we managed to find a nice pitch further from the road, but still near to all the facilities. This was our first time going away in the caravan at this time of year, and our first to a town site. We were not disappointed. The access to all shops, cafe's, etc. was perfect and we loved being able to walk to the seafront and explore it without the summer crowds. One of the highlights was being able to get straight onto the A39, which was not too noisy or busy at this time of year, and head either west or east to explore the beauty of Exmoor, Dunster, the Quantock Hills, to name but a few. The highlight was in feeling the welcome for our dog, who loved the specified dog walk area, which had fresh sawdust spread on much of the pathway which winds its way through a wooded area near the entrance to the site. It was lovely for him to explore something more mentally stimulating than just a patch of grass. Thank you for the effort that has clearly gone into that particular feature.

Lovely little site

Have stayed on this site in January and February this year with our two small dogs.Great winter stays with every thing needed close by in the town. Prefer Minehead in the winter months when it is quieter .Very pleasant Wardens who are friendly and do an excellent job. The site is kept very well and the toilet block beautifully warm and immaculately clean. There is much to do and see within the local area . Exmoor is spectacular and although we have been many times there is always a new walk to find or a beautiful village to discover . Plenty of lovely pubs and cafes , many dog friendly on the moor. This time we walked the snowdrop valley trail and also walked from Dunster beach to blue Anchor.

Post Xmas stay in Minehead

One of our favourite sites, close to so many things to do Exmoor, Coastpath, Dunster, Minehead one of our favourite areas! The site is well positioned just outside town but near Coop & some good takeaways. There is some road noise at peak times but nothing too much. Decent dog walk which could go with trimming back of brambles and overhead branches in places. Facilities are dated, shower block quite small, always clean but could be more modern. Chemical toilet disposal - there only one - needs wellies as the adjacent tap showers water all over you, needs attention. It was very wet when we were there & some of the Drinking water & grey waste water areas were awash - could be better. I hate the non existent recycling- sign says recycled at source, well the source is the site so that's incorrect & I doubt recycling is done to the standard we expect these days! Disappointing from C&MHC. So some negatives, I hope considered as things they could be improved upon but over a convenient, well run & enjoyable place to stay!
