Firstly, a special mention about the Wardens, they are outstanding - incredibly hard working and very helpful, a credit to the Club. The site is very clean and well kept apart from the trees. Some parts of this small site are very dark and dismal. The site is very well located for walking into Minehead and visiting surrounding areas. We were very lucky on arrival that a pitch was available with at least some sunlight, but evening sun was completely out of the question. Many pitches are extremely dull, if we had been left with those as an option we would have made the 240 mile trip home if we could not have gained access to another local site, they are that bad. Also, some pitches are only accessible to motor caravans, caravans with movers or very experience caravaners comfortable at challenging manovering poceedures. We enjoyed visiting Minehead, with its terrific Wardens, but unfortunately stir crazy after our stay!
Lovely stay in Minehead
We had a week in Minehead recently.
In the main the weather was good. The site was clean & tidy with friendly staff.
Minehead has some nice little shops & restaurants with a nice atmosphere.
There are some beautiful surrounding places to visit Dunster Castle, Porlock, Lynton & Lynmouth also the steam train ride from Minehead is well worth a go!
The site Wi-Fi speed was satisfactory.
A very pleasant stay in Minehead.
Nice site!
Only stayed one night so difficult to review but I can say that the facilities were very clean and warm. Although we didn't have much choice of pitches as the site was very busy the one we did chose was great, in a corner, hardstanding and plenty of room for our campervan. When I first contacted the site which was the day of arrival, I did find that the lady on the phone was a bit offish but on arrival at the site realised that it was just her manner and face to face she was fine. I would not be put off by this and would definitely stop on the site again.
Quiet weekend away
Having just acquired a Motorhome this is the first time away on a site. We did not know what to expect. This site surpassed all expectations. It is spotlessly clean, quiet and friendly. Shower blocks were fabulous and have hair dryers which was great as I had forgotten mine. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful which was great for us novices. We will definitely stay again.
A Great Site to Visit
This is our 5th visit to this site. The location is great, as we are energetic walkers and have Exmoor and the SW coast path on our doorstep. The site is small and personal and the facilities it lacks from the big sites is made up for with easy access to supermarket, shops and pubs nearby. The wardens are very friendly and helpful. I would agree the shower block is too small and needing refurbishment but it's clean and functional and at least we were spare piped music in the WC that is creeping insidiously onto other sites...long may that remain.
Over Priced
Any one with expectations of this site being anything more than a basic small site with limited
showers and no shop had better look elsewhere.I have been to many sites that offer far superior amenities for less money than here.
First visit to this site, March 2017
A warm welcome, a very pleasant atmosphere, and a very clean, tidy and well presented site. We only stayed for one night on this occasion, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our two dogs and having enjoyed such a pleasant experience, this site is now firmly fixed on our list of favourites.
Helen and Tony must be commended for their excellent management of the site!
Great 2 stays in March 2017
A great site to drive up to and set off to explore Exmoor. Not too busy in March and despite being closer to a road than we are used to, very quiet. Went there in early March and found it so clean, tidy and well looked after, welcoming, that we returned for another four nights at the end of March. The wardens were very helpful throughout, toilets/showers pristine clean too. Our little terrier loved the dog walking grounds :-) Safe and accessible to everywhere in Exmoor, making it ideal for our photography too.
Lovely stay.
First timers on this nice little site, warmly welcomed and attended to by wardens Helen & Tony. Site ideally situated for town, beach and trips out and about in both Devon & Somerset. Site slightly hilly (in keeping with hilly geographic area) but obviously good for the ticker ! Dog walk very good. Doubtless we will be back to this pleasant little site.
Minehead site in March
Easy to find, very friendly staff offering welcome cookies - great start! Very clean and tidy and all well kept. Toilets and showers spotless. 20 minute walk to Minehead centre - Co-op/chip shop only 5 minutes walk. Visited Dunster Castle - highly recommended, a real gem. We also took a steam train ride from Minehead to Watchet - great way to spend a day. The bread man comes round at 9 with papers and croissants - very useful. Beware - we took our bikes and used the cycle route on the website which is described as family friendly, suitable for small children and with 'mild uphills' - probably true if your family name is Hoy, Frome or Wiggins, but for lesser mortals like my wife and I, it proved an extremely red-faced, and heart thumping challenge! Still, good exercise...
We would definitely be happy to stay here again if we were visiting the area.
