Quiet weekend away

Having just acquired a Motorhome this is the first time away on a site. We did not know what to expect. This site surpassed all expectations. It is spotlessly clean, quiet and friendly. Shower blocks were fabulous and have hair dryers which was great as I had forgotten mine. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful which was great for us novices. We will definitely stay again.

A Great Site to Visit

This is our 5th visit to this site. The location is great, as we are energetic walkers and have Exmoor and the SW coast path on our doorstep. The site is small and personal and the facilities it lacks from the big sites is made up for with easy access to supermarket, shops and pubs nearby. The wardens are very friendly and helpful. I would agree the shower block is too small and needing refurbishment but it's clean and functional and at least we were spare piped music in the WC that is creeping insidiously onto other sites...long may that remain.

Over Priced

Any one with expectations of this site being anything more than a basic small site with limited showers and no shop had better look elsewhere.I have been to many sites that offer far superior amenities for less money than here.

First visit to this site, March 2017

A warm welcome, a very pleasant atmosphere, and a very clean, tidy and well presented site. We only stayed for one night on this occasion, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our two dogs and having enjoyed such a pleasant experience, this site is now firmly fixed on our list of favourites. Helen and Tony must be commended for their excellent management of the site!

Great 2 stays in March 2017

A great site to drive up to and set off to explore Exmoor. Not too busy in March and despite being closer to a road than we are used to, very quiet. Went there in early March and found it so clean, tidy and well looked after, welcoming, that we returned for another four nights at the end of March. The wardens were very helpful throughout, toilets/showers pristine clean too. Our little terrier loved the dog walking grounds :-) Safe and accessible to everywhere in Exmoor, making it ideal for our photography too.

Lovely stay.

First timers on this nice little site, warmly welcomed and attended to by wardens Helen & Tony. Site ideally situated for town, beach and trips out and about in both Devon & Somerset. Site slightly hilly (in keeping with hilly geographic area) but obviously good for the ticker ! Dog walk very good. Doubtless we will be back to this pleasant little site.

Minehead site in March

Easy to find, very friendly staff offering welcome cookies - great start! Very clean and tidy and all well kept. Toilets and showers spotless. 20 minute walk to Minehead centre - Co-op/chip shop only 5 minutes walk. Visited Dunster Castle - highly recommended, a real gem. We also took a steam train ride from Minehead to Watchet - great way to spend a day. The bread man comes round at 9 with papers and croissants - very useful. Beware - we took our bikes and used the cycle route on the website which is described as family friendly, suitable for small children and with 'mild uphills' - probably true if your family name is Hoy, Frome or Wiggins, but for lesser mortals like my wife and I, it proved an extremely red-faced, and heart thumping challenge! Still, good exercise... We would definitely be happy to stay here again if we were visiting the area.

Good Winter Site

Plenty of pubs with good value food out of season within walking distance. Out for a drive or on the train then stop off at Watchet and get your Fish N' Chips from the takeaway next to The Pebbles Tavern and take them in their to eat whilst enjoying a pint. You can also order food from the local deli which will be delivered to the pub. The journey for us from North Devon was much longer than it would have been without the caravan due to advice from Caravan Club not to drive through Dunster.

Near Exmoor

Good site, not too big and it is a reasonable distance to walk into town through residential area. Quite handy too for a few eateries. Although on a main road it is fairly quiet, the site being set in an old quarry with some banking along part of front of site. Not such a good site if you are not too good at walking up (& down) inclines. Short drive to Nat Trust Dunster Castle and this is worth a visit. Also well located for visiting Exmoor and all along the Somerset coast. A previous reviewer's comment about small pitches relates, I believe, to the limited number of none-awning ones.
