Merrose farm is a lovely site in a beautiful area.I have stayed on this site for many years ( approximately 25). The wardens Ruth, Phil and Lee are doing an amazing job on a site of this size. They are all very friendly and welcoming. Previous years staying on the site there were 6 wardens. Now they are down to 3. They only open one of the ladies toilet blocks I presume for ease of cleaning. Also I believe there was a leak in the men’s block which meant the floor was permanently flooded. This was not fixed in 10 days. Whilst we were on site notices went up to say ‘ we have all been spoiled’ by having bins around the site and we were now required to take our rubbish to a central location. I appreciate the Club needs to reduce use of plastic liners but why not leave large red bins at water/waste points as previously done. I find this statement extremely patronising. I feel due to the size of the site people will no longer separate their rubbish, as before it was easy to pop to bins around the site close to pitches . For info the WiFi is virtually non existent and constantly logs you out. I feel the management of the Club need to consider the club are providing a service to paying customers and need to endeavour to keep to the standards we have had for many years.

I was here in Mid September and there were three bins - bottles/glass, general waste, and recycling at each of the water points.  It works better than the old system of little but multiple bins emptied daily - though I rather miss the tractors scurrying about !

Are you suggesting there is now only ONE centralised point for all rubbish? If so, that's non-sensical - and no doubt it's a reflection of cost as Biffa will have less bins to collect?

I have to agree - the Club becomes ever less interested in what the Members think and increasingly driven by a cost-saving mentality.  It's such a shame.
