What a Cornish Gem

You can not fault this site, it's super clean, beautifully kept, really friendly wardens, great information hut, shower block clean and tidy at all times, lots of sunny pitches, fabulous play park for the kiddies and great dog field for exercising the hound.  If you want to walk the Roseland Peninsula this is the site for you.  Within 10-15 minutes you are on the coast path.  We found some fabulous places to take refreshments, the Hidden Hut at Porthcernick beach, Boathouse at Porthcatho and then just when you need a cup of tea we came across the Thirstea Van at Porth Beach which was super.  We took the bus to Truro (40 minutes), ok if you want to shop and see the Cathedral and you can pick up a guide that shows you which places are dog friendly - a lot of the shops and cafes are. Falmouth really enjoyed, Pendennis Castle is a good afternoon out and the docks are really interesting, nice lot of shops. Loved going across the King Harry Ferry to the NT Trelissick Gardens - the woodland dog walk is a really good long walk and the views are stunning, lovely gardens (dogs not allowed in the gardens but allowed everywhere else), excellent shop, second hand book shop and cafe, super views of the estuary.  The Roseland is breathtaking coast with super beaches, rocky coves and stunning coastal walks.  We didn't make it to St Anthonys Head (will do that next time).  Would have liked to have visited St Mawes but we ran out of time.  Enjoyed a late lunch at the Rosevine which was very nice - sat out with the dog. If you aren't able to walk there is quite a lot of parking dotted around the peninsula although be prepared to take it slowly as the lanes are quite narrow and you will often come across walkers, horses etc.  We took our pushbikes and whilst there are a lot of really quiet lanes to cycle it is hard going - very hilly in places.  We went over the ferry on our bikes to the NT gardens - it was a massive pedal up hill all the way back but I think it burnt off the cream tea. Wifi is excellent on site, mobile signal for vodaphone is very good and TV not too bad at all.  All in all we had a fantastic trip, we were lucky to have dry weather for the whole time and some lovely sun.  This site is on my list of favourites - although we have loved all of the sites we have visited.  My hubby said to me as we pulled up at site - it's just like coming home, you know exactly what to expect and it's true.... we are so lucky to have the Caravan Club.  We will be back!
