This is our 4th or 5th visit to this site and as on previous occasions the welcome was both warm and helpful. During the pandemic it was obvious that this would place additional workload on the staff. We fully understand the need for the limitations the the virus placed on us all even though they could be somewhat tedious. But hey ho they are there for a reason. The site was as usual very well kept with all waste areas clean and tidy. No litter about the site and well kept. BUT and there is always a but, the attitude of some of my fellow campers and Caravaners in relation to personal hygiene leaves a lot to be desired. I was personally disgusted to see the state of the toilet block during several visits. On one occasion there was human waste on the floor in front of one toilet with some of it up the outside of the front of the pan. On another occasion one toilet was blocked with human waste. Toilet tissue strewn on the floor both in toilet cubicles and in showers. I personally watched people leave toilets without washing their hands or using the provided hand sanitiser. In the current situation this is unforgivable. None of this can be laid at the door of the site staff who do a magnificent job. So can I make a plea to all my fellow campers and caravaners to please help the staff by cleaning up what is your mess. We live in extraordinary times and it is incumbent on us all to help to beat this virus as quickly as possible, notwithstanding other infections that could be transmitted by such poor behaviour. I am sorry to be blunt but this is the first time I have come across standards as poor as this on a CAMC site. My sympathy rests entirely with the site staff. This is a lovely site, please don’t spoil it for the site staff or the majority of campers and caravaners who know how to behave. I have given a rating of 3 ticks for facilities and cleanliness which does not reflect on the site staff but on the few who abuse the facilities. It does make me wonder what your own homes are like!
