quiet and peaceful

Visited in autumn, away from school holidays hence quiet and peaceful. Nice location for attractions such as Pendennis, St Mawes Castles, Tintagel, Eden Project. Campground and facilities immaculate, friendly and helpful wardens, good WiFi signal plenty adequate for simple browsing and a little downloading.

Another great visit

This is the 6th year we've visited this site. It never fails to please! Clean, we'll run and such a lovely situation. Peace and quiet were in abundance, even though we visited during the school holidays (with no children!). I'd love to take children there as it has the most fantastic play area. We will be back again next year!

Our perfect site!

We go to Merrose every year. The wardens are always friendly & the site is always clean & well maintained. We have been twice this year. Our last visit August Bank Holiday the weather was absolutely incredible! There are some lovely local places to visit Porthcurnick beach, St Mawes & Portscatho to name but a few. The site Wi-Fi is ok, but continued speed improvement would be useful.

Lovely site

Stayed here last 2 weeks of August. Lovely site well maintained. Wardens very friendly. We chose to stay an extra night the wardens cancelled our other booking and arranged everything for us.

A little Gem in a quite part of Cornwall

Already being a resident of East Cornwall, we had to cancel our holiday in Scotland because we needed to be fairly close too home to sign a legal document in the event that it concluded while we were away. We still wanted a Holiday as things had been quite stressful over the previous few months. What a little gem this turned out to be, stress free and quite and perfect for our little four leg pets. Super well kept and manicured lawns and pitches, even the dog walking area was well manicured. there is a super little traffic free bridle path just outside the entrance and the dogs loved it. A perfect dog friendly beach is well within reach of the site and even that felt relaxed and friendly. For what we want out of a club site it was perfect, I do think however that the fast lane living amongst some of the club members may very well think this is out of the way and not a lot going on, each to their own, from our perspective it was perfect. last but not least those guys who manage the site are working hard all the time and that is the main reason it looks so good, keep up the great work and hope to see you next year.

Perfect for motorhomes, amazing walks, best site ever.

Our first visit to this side of Cornwall,in our motorhome, over August bank holiday it will not be our last, seems so much quieter this side away from the crowds. Took a non electric pitch which is in the middle of the field at the back where the kids play are is, apart from the noise of children playing which peaked at 6pm it was really quite ( no complaints as we have to share this world ) Showers spotless, site well kept, wardens fantastic, fish & chip van , pizza van, and you can walk to a farm shop within 10 mins if you need supplies that does the best crab ever. If you carry on further you end up at the footpath, turn left you can walk on the path to a nice dog friendly beach, a bit further you can enjoy a pot of tea in a nice hotel. If you turn right you will eventually come to the hidden shack, amazing ice cream and another dog friendly beach. Before the shack is a hidden beach which we had to ourselves. We booked for 2 nights and stayed 5, would have stayed longer but forecast for rain & work commitments meant we had to return home. We will be planning another trip this September if the weather is right. What more can I say apart from perfect, we didn't need to move the van. Thanks

Good site overall

Arrival 7/10 : After a 9hr journey, attended at office to book in, waited my turn, a member of staff asked what I want, I informed them I was booking in and the member of staff replied that we can only book one in at a time, she will be with you and walked away. Not the greeting I expected after a long journey. Site / Gardens:10/10 excellent conditions, grass cut every other day and bin area spotless. Loads of space between caravans. Toilets/ showers: 9/10: spotless all round but my only grip is the showers. I am 6ft 2inch and I have to bend down and place my face against the water pipes to wash my hair. Why can't the showers come out further from the wall so tall people can have a nice shower. I tried to use the disable shower for that reason but it was always taken. I wonder if others have the same problems. Overall lovely site, can walk to a pub and The Hidden Hut is close by but rather expensive for what you get...... I would definitely be back next year. Thanks

Cornish Gem

Just arrived back from a weeks stay at his lovely site. We arrived in the pouring rain which is always a strain, however the wardens welcomed us and informed us that they had allocated two pitches for us, which we did not have to use, but because our van is 8m long they thought we would find these easier to get on, one was in the main part of the site and one was in play area. We tend to like to get away from the main melee so crossed our fingers that being in the play area wouldn't be to noisy and we opted for that, the wardens were right, the hard standing pitches were a little tight. (Especially without a mover). The sun arrived the next day and we had glorious weather the rest of the time and found some fantastic little coves as we walked the coastal path, we covered from Portloe to St Anthony head; Cornish coastline is breath-taking in good weather. Site is as we have come to expect, immaculate and cherished by the hard working wardens, and we are ever grateful for their forethought in allocating us a special pitch for our large van which turned out to be open spacious and peaceful. Lovely. Thank you.

Cornish cream

A nice side of Cornwall, away from the waves......... Big site, big play area, great toilet block. Pleasant drives around the little coves and bays, close to the site. Local beach is easy to find and get on to.
