1st time, 6 days in July

Stayed here 6 days in July during the heat wave. This was our 1st time at this site. The route into the site is quite narrow and at one point I did think we had taken a wrong turning, Turn off the main 'A' road and go down a narrow lane with passing places, at the end is a sharp left turn up a steep slope then after 100 yards the site is on the left. We arrived around 1.30pm and were quickly on our way looking for a pitch. The warden did say that someone had arrived at 12 noon and was told to turn around and come back later which I fully agree with - Well done. The site is set on several levels with hard standings and grass pitches. Some of these are very unlevel and require wheel & leg blocks. We initially pitched next to the play area as we were waiting for friends and were told other plots would be available near-by, however although kids don't bother us we did feel a bit like fish in a bowl as children & parents walked past. We moved the following day to a pitch at the other side of the site which was much quieter. The site was very clean, the facilities immaculate and the views stunning. I do agree with a previous review that a couple of areas on the site do resemble cars parks made up of chippings and tarmac and not the usual club standards so I'm unsure why they took this approach to make pitching areas. Other than that we had a very enjoyable stay with easy access to all areas of the Lakes.
