I look back with nothing but fondness and a smile on my face about our first visit to this site last October 2015, the site is so easy to get to, being only a few miles of the M6 with easy access via dual charge way and only single carriage way for the last couple of mile. There are plenty of passing points for other vehicles and as long as your not stressed by the normal Friday afternoon on the M6, you will very soon relax as you drive closer to the site. Upon arrival the wardens are always welcoming and friendly. This is simply the most perfect base for visiting the south Lake District including Morecombe. Every pitch provides a different scene which is even more special with the warm autumn colours which nature greatly provides use with. Facilities are within easy access of all the pitches, but please be mindful that the site is on a gentle slope down from the main reception, however I did notice some specific disabled pitches. Do not let the slope put you off the pitches themselves are mixture of hard standing and grass and level. We chose a perfect pitch for us at the bottom of the site under an amazingly colourful tree (pitch 82). An amazing four night visit was had taking in the surrounding areas including, Ambleside, Grange-over-sands and Morecombe to name a few. Looking forward to our return visit this year October 2016.
