The site was full being the start of the Bank Holiday weekend but you wouldn't know it.  Such a peaceful site with views down to Morecombe Bay from many parts of the site.  Staff and facilities all top notch as you would expect from the Caravan Club.  We love cycling from the site up into the quiet lanes of the Southern Lakeland.   Just follow the NCN and then head north out of Witherslack - you need an OS map but the quietness and wildlife are what you dream of.  We drop into Bownes (not for long - too many crowds) cross the ferry and go down the back road on the west side of Windermere to Newby Bridge.  Then there is a lane to take you to Cartmel and back to Grange. 35 hilly miles and just perfect. We will return again ..and again ...and again.....
