If we had chosen to listen to the weather reviews for this past weekend we shouldn't of been out caravanning however as Meathop Fell is only a 50 min drive from home we rang up Friday morning for a weather check and off we went.  We were cheerily greeted by the lovely relief wardens after driving up the newly resurfaced road which many members have moaned about in the past.  I'm not joking it's smoother than the M6.  As the site was pretty quiet it was just peaceful yet cosy with a superb view across the estuary to Arnside.  As always the site is faultless - the toilet & shower block together with the domestic areas were spotlessly clean, fresh and a credit to those hard working wardens who never seemed to stop.  The local hotel a little further up the lane serves reasonably priced food served to a good standard in a delightful room - over the many years of visiting this site I cannot believe we hadn't visited sooner.  Keep up the great standard and well done to all at Meathop Fell CC.
