Heading north of the border we wanted a place on the west coast route to break our journey. Meathop Fell looked right when planning our trip and proved to be ideal in practice. Access from the M6 was straight forward and although the final approach required not a little concentration, the welcome was friendly and warm and the site quiet and peaceful. On reflection, given its proximity to the Lakes and the estuary it is a site well worth visiting for a much longer stay.  On our return from Scotland we shall once more break our journey at this convenient and welcoming site.
