Excellent Site - well placed for exploring the Lakes
We stayed at Meathop Fell in early June 2019. It's easily accessed from the M6 (15minutes tops), only the last mile to the site is single track (with passing places) which wasn't a problem with our 5th wheeler. Site access is a consideration when booking sites for us.
It's a great site, large pitches in a woodland type setting, good facilities, helpful staff, a useful shop on site (we bought an aerial cable - there are aerial sockets in the electric points and we had no TV without it. Point to note - even with one there are only about a dozen channels).
There were plenty of showers/washrooms/loos all very clean. Laundry facilities. Motorhome service point, handy Information Room.
Meathop Fell is at the very southern tip of the Lake District. However we visited virtually the whole of the area from here over a week and didn't feel as though we were "out of the way".
We can highly recommend Kendal as a pleasant and interesting town to visit and not too full of tourists.
If in the area, we would definitely re-visit Meathop Fell site.
