Good for families

Excellent

Our stay at Meathop Fell was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful with local information in plentiful supply. We visited several places around Windermere and found the welcome in all of the shops and restaurants very good. During our stay we also visited Morecambe to pay our respect to the Eric Morecambe statue. We were informed that the seafront area was worth a visit but not really the town. However, like most seaside resorts, it has become a little run-down, but if you're looking for bargains, the town is worth a visit. The Kings Head pub on the seafront is well worth a visit too, excellent food and drink. Carnforth was the highlight of our visit (the setting for the station scenes in Brief Encounter). Free entry and very friendly, pleasant staff. Altogether a very pleasant stay.
