Why stay here ...

OFFERS*: 10% OFF Autumn Getaways | Kids for £1 (aged 5-17) | Under 5s stay free | £5 refundable deposit

Peaceful Meathop Fell Club Campsite in pretty Grange-over-Sands is thoughtfully laid out with separate pitching areas attractively divided by shrubs and grass. The campsite is an ideal base to launch your exploration of Cumbria and the beautiful Southern Lake District.

Brockhole, the National Park Visitor Centre, is a good place to start your exploration, as it holds an enormous collection of information, books and audio/visual material about the Lakes under one roof. The entire area is a walker's paradise with its scenic beauty. Literary associations with famous artists are everywhere - from Wordsworth at Dove Cottage in Grasmere to Beatrix Potter at Sawrey. Another interesting excursion for the artistically inclined would be the Potter Gallery in the Main Street at nearby Hawkshead. The campsite also gives you easy access to fun water activities at Windermere plus sailing, canoeing and windsurfing at Coniston. In addition, plenty of flat cycling can be enjoyed nearby.
