Peaceful and pretty site in the gateway to the highlands

This is a lovely little site in a pretty village and we spent 8 nights here. I was a little worried about the toilet blocks having read some reviews but they were fine - spotless and functional and I accept that not all CMHC sites can have "bang up to date facilities'. I particularly liked the drying room for wet coats, etc. If I am going to be critical I'd day that some pitches need updating. Extra hardstanding had been put down on ours and on some others, but in an entirely different stone, so in my view the pitches need attention. Again though, the pitches were fully functional. My criticism is merely in respect of the "cosmetic" viewpoint, in the same way that some members have been about the toilet block. The site itself is next to a road, and some parts closer than others. The road isn't busy but they were resurfacing it for 3 nights or so when we were there, so it did get noisy at times. This was no fault of the club though, just timing on our part. If you love biking, walking, canoeing or paddle boarding, or if you simply enjoy some peace and quiet along with a nice views then you'll get it here. We had the river running at the back of us and the 10th highest mountain in the UK to our right. We were also fortunate enough to be here when Killin hosted its annual highland games, which was enjoyable to see. Would we return - absolutely!
