Left the wife at home & went away for a boys week to celebrate our 65th birthdays & retirements for the week 14/10/18 - 20/10/18. My mate Nigel & myself (Marc) arrived to be met by Barbara & Ian who welcomed us & briefed us on the facilities, including showing us to our pitch. We were very impressed upon arrival, with the friendliness & helpfulness of the staff, plus the excellent facilities & this impression stayed with us all week. Beautiful scenery, along with a short 10 minute walk into the village of Killin which has a good co-op general store & various other shops, pubs & resturants. The Coach House opposite the campsite greeted us warmly on our first night & we enjoyed a hearty pub meal there. We ventured further afield using a hire car to take in some distilleries, Gleneagles Hotel, Oban & other attractions which were all within approx. an hour or so. This part of Scotland has some stunning scenery & the Maragowan site is the perfect place to explore from. The autumnal colours surrounding this area are quite spectacular. My wife is very jealous after seeing the photos & hearing of our adventures that we plan to come back together next year.
