Riverside Site
It's been well over 20 years since we last visited this site. Turning off the A85 towards Killin I even remembered the Lix Toll Garage where we had to have a tyre changed all those years ago! In many ways in all those years nothing has really changed about the site that I can remember. The toilet block is of the older variety but perfectly serviceable. Good to see open grill waste water disposal at the motorhome service point. After rain, fairly common in this part of the world, some of the hardstandings hold surface water for a while. I was surprised to get a decent 4G signal on site. The village is a short walk from the site and there are several places to eat or just to have a coffee. There is a useful small Co-Op supermarket. The main tourist attraction of Killin is the Falls of Dochart which is at the opposite end of the village from the site. One advantage of the rain is that it makes the Falls even more dramatic! Those with their own transport can tour further afield from the site. There is a fairly infrequent bus service from the village to Callander.
