First time visitor
We stayed at this site in the second week of June & found it very relaxing place. The pitches backing onto the river are great as you have plenty of grass area around you and can walk down the bank (watch out the bank is steep in places and water is very deep) to the river. The road is a bit noisy at times but it is quite at night. As usual the wardens kept the place very tidy & are friendly.
During our stay the midges had not really made any appearance so did not bother us to much. Early morning sighting across the river of a stag munching on the grass was worth getting up for sadly only saw it the once... The walks around are very accessible, the walk to Loch Tay is just outside the site over the bridge following the road to the cemetery and then the old railway track, you can follow this route along the banks of the loch and into Killin and right to Dochart Falls.
If you which to bike then there are plenty of routes to follow an off road track is marked just past Dochart Falls on the A827 out of Killin on your left Ardmore forest. This route again follows the old railway track up into the forest and back round about 4-5 miles other than this use route 7 signs along quite roads. We will visit again
