Bit soggy

This was our second visit to Maragowan, the last being several years ago . We received a warm welcome on our arrival from the site warden. The communal facilities were kept impeccably clean and tidy by the staff, no easy task given how busy the site was. Killin seems to have lost several of it shops, perhaps inevitable effect of seasonal tourism, but the Co-op is well stocked with all the essentials. Unfortunately our visit to the site coincided with some extremely heavy rain, the consequence of which was our pitch became completely inundated with 2 or 3 inches of water. It appears that some folk had received advice on arrival from wardens on which pitches to avoid, unfortunately we didn't. Equally unfortunate was leaving our Wellingtons at home, making the packing up a rather damp affair. We could have moved to another pitch but, given we had only one more night booked, we cut our losses and moved on.The weather is often wet in this part of the world, it was a bit disappointing that the pitch collected rather than shed water. We will return sometime in future, perhaps in a different month and definitely to a different pitch.
