3 nights and 2 very wet days
The site description, like other CAMC site descriptions, does not say clearly what can or cannot be done without driving off site. For example, it doesn’t show if or how it’s possible to walk to Malvern, which is important as there is no scheduled bus service there. The centre of Malvern can be reached on foot in about 1 Hr at a steady pace. Turn left at site entrance and immediately left onto a footpath across fields leading to a lane. Turn left and then right along the lane to join the B4211. Turn left onto the B4211’s footway. The route improves after 10 mins when the speed limit drops. On reaching the shops at Barnard’s Green, continue for another 15 mins uphill into Malvern’s town centre. There is plenty to see and do in Malvern including accessing the Malvern Hills. With an OS map circular walks of varying distance can be made from the site. Caravan stuff4u and then the Three Counties Showground (2½ miles) can be reached by foot or bike by turning right at the site entrance and right again at the Hanley Swan crossroads with footways all the way. The Backmore Camp bus stop is 300 yds from the site entrance in the direction of Hanley Swan which is 1 min bus time from the Hanley Swan bus stop. The only scheduled service is First Bus’s 363 to Worcester and Upton-upon-Severn. The timetable is on their website. Their 2 Sep 24 timetable shows no service on Sat, Sun & BHs. On the remaining days busses leave Upton-upon-Severn at 0715, 0940, 1140, 1340 & 1540 and Worcester at 1045, 1235, 1445 & 1800. On schooldays an extra bus leaves Worcester at 0745. A timetable at the bus stop shows each bus’s arrival time which can also be found on their website. There is an on-demand bus service for essential journeys bookable up to 5 days in advance that we did not use https://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/council-services/travel-and-highways/bus-travel-worcestershire/worcestershire-demand. Upton-upon-Severn is a pleasant small town that can be reached easily by bike using quieter back roads. There may be other things that can be done without driving off site.
