Walking to the Worcestershire Beacon from site
We have just enjoyed a lovely three nights at Malvern Hills Caravan Club Site. What a lovely site, with amazing views.
We stayed here because we wanted to walk the Malvern Hills. We own a camper van and don’t like to move it once we’ve pitched up. On arrival, although very helpful and knowledgeable, ALL wardens said it was not walkable from the site as there are currently no buses running on the weekends due to COVID and Great Malvern is nearly four miles away.
We just wanted to let fellow campers know it can be done! It is about a ten mile round trip taking in some beautiful countryside. We walked through the fields adjacent to the site to the B4211 up to Barnards Green and then onto Great Malvern. From the A449 through the Rose Bank Gardens up the 99 steps and then the zig zag path passed St Ann’s Well carrying right up to the Worcestershire Beacon. Once at the top, the views were magnificent. We then dropped down the other side walking to Upper Wynche and then cross country straight through Worcestershire Golf Club before walking the B4209 passed the Three Counties Showground and onto The Swan pub at Hanley Swan for a well deserved pint! Please note there is a footpath all the way on both the B4211 and B4209.
Would definitely recommend both the site and the walk!
