First of all I should say that we do not normally visit the same site twice in one year, but this time was an exception for two reasons: 1/ It's a lovely quiet site in a superb location, and 2/ Our first visit was during the really hot spell in July. It was so hot that we didn't manage to do very much during the heat of the day other than sit in the shade with cold drinks. However, this time we made the most of it. The cycle ride to Upton along the backroads was very pleasant with very little traffic, and there are loads of walking possibilities direct from the site. The wardens sell a very handy little map in the site shop, which is a blown up version of the OS map of the immediate surroundings. It was really easy to plan several local walks starting at the entrance gate. Apart from that the site is spacious and well maintained. The wardens are very friendly and helpful when needed . . . . . Will definitely visit again.
